Finally, we reached the restaurant. I was hungry.
Finally, we checked into the hotel. I was tired.
Finally, we arrived at the home of family. We were grateful, happy to see everyone.
Grateful for all the times we needed help and got it. Grateful for all the times things weren't going so well and we made it through to the other side. Grateful for the love of these people.
And now, for a moments, we relax ... enjoy conversation, catching up, sharing joys and sorrows ...
And when it's time, we will journey again, the long, exhausting road, resting, moving, resting, moving, in a journey to the end, trying to enjoy it, but wishing we were there ...
Finally
With Jesus

It is amazing how those "finally" moments are so precious in our memories. We truly long to arrive and one day we will. Finally.

ReplyDeleteI've given up on reaching port
ReplyDeleteagainst this running tide,
so I'll drink my rum by the quart
and just enjoy the ride,
seeing stars through mists of rain,
and looking for the rainbow's end.
Sure, the trip will bring the pain,
but I do not intend
to give it up and cry, 'Oh, woe!
Why did You let this happen?'
I'll just grin and laugh and go
out with fingers snappin',
and get to Heaven just in time
to lead angels in a conga line
:) ... angels in a conga line!! Awesome!
Deleteyes, there is relief in the word!
